Mark Burgess

Mark has a keen interest in the work of IP Group in supporting the development, growth and commercialisation of Australia’s outstanding university research. He is also a strong believer in the need for Australian financial institutions to support local research in the evolution of research to development and application. 

Mark has over 35 years’ experience managing global and Australian institutional assets in a variety of roles including Global Chief Investment Officer and CEO of leading asset management organisations in Australia, London and New York and as CEO of Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund - the Future Fund. He currently sits on a number of boards and is Director and Investment Committee member of the Australian Retirement Trust. 

Mark holds a Bachelor Commerce (Hons) from University of Melbourne.
